Made from a flexible, implantable plastic called PTFE, these barbells are perfect for either pregnency or hospital procedures. Worn through a belly button piercing during pregnancy these barbells (although not too pretty) will keep your piercing open until after the birth when you can change back to your usual jewellery. We would recommend wearing a much longer length than usual as your piercing length will stretch as the pregnancy progresses and to make these bars comfortable you need lots of extra space at either end of the bar. The flexible nature of these bars means they will bend to suit the shape of your bump, helping to make them fit as comfortably as possible. These bars are also a good option if you have to go into hospital for an operation or a scan and have been told that you have to remove your metal jewellery and don't want to risk your piercing closing up as these should be fine to wear and will not interfere with any machinery. However, it is always worth checking with the hospital to see what is allowed for your particular procedure. Available in 1.6mm (so great for tongue,nipple, navel and tongue piercings).
